| Program Manager |

Seeking a full-time program manager for AEI Senior Fellow to oversee research and administrative tasks for a wide variety of issues including health care, information technology, the military, and politics.
Responsibilities include managing research projects, supervising two full-time research assistants, conference planning, internal network building, and general office administration. The position requires excellent research, writing, and communication skills and a demonstrated organizational, administrative, and project expertise. The ability to manage a variety of tasks, as well as adjusting to changing priorities and remaining calm under pressure and deadlines are also essential. Candidates should have three to four years experience in Washington, DC as well as experience in a supervisory capacity.

| Senior System Administrator – Linux / Networks |
 |
Seeking an experienced Linux system administrator and network administrator.
The primary responsibilities of this position are the planning, deployment, and management of Linux servers in a VMware virtual server environment and the configuration and maintenance of our sophisticated internal and external networks. We seek a candidate with strong practical experience and proven application of industry best practices with a particular emphasis on security.
The successful candidate will have deep technical knowledge of Linux (Red Hat / CentOS preferred), VMware, and network technologies including DNS, subnets, VLANs, SMTP, DHCP, firewalls, proxy servers, and network monitoring.
Other desirable qualifications include exposure to Windows servers and networking, Active Directory, Exchange server, Blackberry server, Storage Area Networks, and web technologies.
AEI requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, technical know-how, resourcefulness and problem solving skills. The ideal candidate is energetic, dynamic, and a self-starter. An interest in public policy is a plus.

| Seeking freelance copyeditors, proofreaders, and indexers to assist the AEI Press, publishing arm of the American Enterprise Institute. The AEI Press publishes books and monographs on a wide range of public policy issues, including foreign policy, domestic policy, and economic studies. Strong command of Chicago style is essential. Some knowledge of specific subject areas may also be valuable. Previous professional book editing experience is required. Applicants need not reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. This is an excellent opportunity to work on interesting material written by world-class scholars. |
